I have had this system for about three years, with zero problems with one exception. Lately, Paramount, Sony, and now Funimation are formatting their dvds in such a manner that they will not play in this player. It is not regional encoding, I have played many discs with regional encoding without problem. Due to health problems, I've spent a lot of hours indoors and the system has been used heavily. My solution to the formatting problem is to simply play the disc in my older player. Not home theater, but then again, I buy from these manufacturers after market. I also rent first to see if there is going to be a problem with these studios. Overall,a good value. If not for this problem I would give the system a 4.5 star rating.
